1. POSITION (S) VACANT: Program Associates (Five Vacancies), International Non-Profit Organization, Jaipur, Rajasthan (Two Vacancies), Delhi (One Vacancy), Sambalpur, Odisha (Two Vacancies)


2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

 

Our client is a respected, International Non-Profit Organization (INPO), with expertise in implementing ground water projects in several continents and in the process of establishing operations in India.

 

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, INPO, the Program Associates shall be responsible for the following:

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:


(1) Facilitate implementation of the organization’s water program and its action plans. The post-holder shall contribute to and assist in the scaling-up of field activities;

(2) Assist in the conduct of primary and secondary research in areas relating to water and sanitation, agriculture and rural livelihoods, with responsibility for generating research outcomes, including reports, papers, briefs, etc.;

(3) Undertake standard project management tasks, including the drafting of project concept notes, preparation of work plans and managing of contracts with consultants and partners;

(4) Evaluate and monitor the performance of all activities, for ensuring the timely accomplishment and reporting of project objectives;

(5) Scope out new panchayats to partner with, in project districts;

(6) Build relationships with local panchayats, authorities and the community, to facilitate the implementation of the water program/ project;

(7) Develop an effective communications and outreach strategy that supports program objectives;

(8) Organize workshops/ meetings, prepare background documents and other relevant documents for wider dissemination

(9) Represent the organization in different forums including conferences and meetings;

(10) Write project reports in English.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:       

 

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a master’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Water Management, Environmental Economics, or related field.

 

Experience:

(1) Candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience in the areas of water resource management, industrial water use and community engagement;

(2) Prior exposure to supporting the implementation of programs on water, agriculture and rural livelihoods, with social enterprises, or not-for-profit organizations, is essential;

(3) Experience of undertaking socio-economic surveys, including data collection and analysis will be an advantage.

 

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Strong research and analytical skills;

(2) Good communication, project execution and planning skills;

(3) Ability to multi-task with a strong result-oriented approach;

(4) Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize effectively, despite time constraints;

(5) Ability to manage tasks with considerable independence, competence and discretion;

(6) Ability to communicate effectively in English and Hindi.;

(7) Knowledge of the local language would be an added advantage;

(8) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications;

(9) Ability and willingness to travel extensively (40%), based on the needs of the job.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

Gross compensation budgeted for the position ranges from Rs. 45,000/- to Rs. 60,000/- per month but shall not be a constraint for the right candidates. The offer made to the selected candidates shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
