Junior Associates - M&E and Implementation

1. POSITIONS VACANT: Junior Associates - M&E and Implementation, Reputed, Non-Profit Organization (NPO), Delhi/ Selected Districts of Madhya Pradesh (2 vacancies)

 

2. ORGANISATION BACKGROUND:

 

Our client is a highly respected Indian NPO, that supports the public health system in delivering solutions at scale, to improve maternal and child health outcomes, by partnering with government and communities.

 

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Reporting to the Senior Associate or Associate - M&E and implementation, the Junior Associates - M&E and Implementation (JA-MEI) shall handle the following activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

(1) Implementation of monitoring systems, encompassing the development of methods and tools, administration of existing or freshly developed tools, and supporting teams in the implementation of the systems by means of capacity building, handholding, and/or troubleshooting;

(2) Data collection, data management, data analysis and quality assurance of data;

(3) Close coordination with the program team to build appropriate monitoring systems that ensure the quality delivery of programs and projects;

(4) Qualitative and quantitative data analysis, providing actionable insights to the program implementation team;

(5) Creation of data presentations that tell compelling stories and provide actionable insights for the senior management team;

(6) Experiment and innovate: Constantly suggest improvements to the monitoring systems, approaches and methods followed by the organization, as a part of the M&E team;

(7) Help Data go Further: Develop ideas on making data more actionable, through stronger links with business strategy, effective communication, and staff engagement;

(8) Partnership Development: Support the senior management team in working with external partners;

(9) Management of multiple projects/ work-streams, ensuring high-quality output, and timely delivery, and thereby contributing directly to the achievement of organizational goals;

(10) Preparation of periodic internal and donor-mandated progress reports;

(11) Effective communication and internal coordination within the team;

(12) Provision of support to program and intervention evaluation studies carried out by the organization through descriptive and statistical analysis of program activity data correlating with impact indicators;

(13) Contributions to knowledge management activities through research on M&E tools and methods, writing blogs/ think pieces on the application of tools and methods, organizational learning, and organizational development work;

(14) Performance of any other task, assigned by the organization.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

(A) Qualification and Experience

(1) Graduates/ postgraduate, in any discipline, from a recognized university;

(2) Applicants with a Master’s in Social Work/ Public Health/ Statistics/ Computer Applications/ Business Administration (MBA)/ Rural Marketing, shall be preferred;

(3) One to two years of experience in M&E of programs and projects is essential;

(4) Experience in analysing qualitative or quantitative data, and synthesizing information;

(5) Proficiency in the use of one or more standard monitoring and reporting tools such as Google Sheets, ODK, Power BI, and Google Data Studio, as well as the use of statistical packages on open-source programming platforms such as ‘R’ and/or SPSS, SAS, and PSPP;

(6) Understanding of various government data portals, particularly in the public health and nutrition domain;

(7) Experience in designing and implementing evaluations, or research projects in maternal and child health shall be given preference;

(8) Exposure to Maternal & Child Health, Public Health and/or Nutrition, shall be an advantage;

(9) Applicants with experience of working with the community, especially in tribal belts, will be given preference.

 

(B) Skills and Competencies

(5) Technical skills: setting up and managing data collection and aggregation tools, designing data-linked reports and summary dashboards;

(6) Excellent skills in oral and written communications;

(7) Ability to work independently and as a team player in a complex, multicultural environment, with demonstrated leadership, communication, networking, and presentation capabilities;

(8) Ability to translate complex systems and concepts into easy-to-understand pieces;

(9) Demonstrated interest in or commitment to tackling global development challenges;

(10) Willing to travel to intervention districts, as required.

 

(C) Technical Skills

(1) Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation approaches;

(2) Basics of data collection, database management, data analysis and report writing;

(3) Familiar with result-based management system and approaches like Logical Framework, Logic Model, Outcome Mapping (OM), Theory of Change (ToC), Social Frameworks, Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), Impact evaluation, Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs), Process Evaluation, and Implementation Research Methods.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

The gross compensation budgeted for the position is Rs. 6 to 7 lacs per annum. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.

 

6. LOCATION: New Delhi, or Selected Districts of Madhya Pradesh (viz. Gwalior, Morena, Damoh, Seoni, Chhindwara, Betul, Khargone, or Barwani.)
