2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

 

PRADAN is a respected Indian, non-profit organisation, established in 1983 and registered under the Societies Registration Act. The organization works with the rural poor to enhance their income and standard of living.

 

PRADAN is the largest non-profit in the livelihood space in the country, with more than 600 professional staff, spread across seven states (viz. Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and West Bengal).

 

PRADAN promotes Self-Help Groups, develops locally relevant economic activities, mobilises finances from government schemes and introduces models to improve livelihoods of the rural poor and sustain their progress.

About the Project:

 

Funding & Learning Initiative for Girls in Higher Education & Skills Training (FLIGHT) -UN Women project implemented by PRADAN in partnership with B-ABLE, which is an implementation organization for skill-based employment.

 

FLIGHT aims to motivate and enable 750 young women to pursue and complete their higher education for degree or diploma and gain employable skill that would allow them to participate in India’s digital economy. The programme will focus on young women between the ages of 17 and 25 in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

 

By concentrating efforts and interventions, the initiative aims to create a network of graduate young women who will be role models, as well as creating supportive local communities, thereby increasing support and reducing drop-out rates.

 

The support provided through the FLIGHT initiative includes:

1) Providing Skill education and scholarship to the girls who are pursuing higher education in various institutions including Government College/ ITI/ Polytechnic and preparing them for formal jobs.

(2) In line with UN Women’s guidance, providing technical and financial support for 27 months

(3) Career guidance and counselling along with access to community support and champions to help build the career path

(4) Access to job fairs, internship opportunities and exposure visits to private companies, along with dedicated sessions by experts and corporate mentors

(5) Professional, soft and life skills training beneficial for all career streams

(6) Access to placement opportunities, support for pursuing entrepreneurship or self-employment.

 

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

PRADAN wishes to hire a high-energy, result-oriented Training professional, with a strong interest in the roll out and assessment of training programs and proven competency in the area.

 

The Training Lead- Skill Education shall be responsible for implementing and operationalise a robust training delivery system that will ensure a consistent standard of training delivery approach is maintained at every level.

 

The incumbent shall also be responsible for successful rollout of the employability curriculum across the seven shortlisted institutes to achieve the project goals and outcomes.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

(1) Handhold the Trainers responsible for administering the employability curriculum ensuring candidate learning and effective participation in the classroom;

(2) Liaise with the principals and focal points of the institutes for smooth implementation of the programme activities and ensure their involvement in the programme;

(3) Build linkages with guest faculty, experts, industry veterans for taking additional sessions on key topics for enriching course curriculum;

(4) Develop a schedule for the rollout of the modules across institutes as planned and ensuring timelines as agreed upon

(5) Design schedule for community engagement and ensure trainer connect with families and communities as needed;

(6) Deliver and demonstrate key modules such as Financial and Digital literacy, Digital Economy Skills, Leadership and Communication;

(7) Organise exposure visits to companies, along with dedicated sessions by experts and corporate mentors;

(8) Regular engagement and interaction with various stakeholders like colleges, trainers, students, community, parents etc ensure smooth working towards objective;

(9) Schedule recruitment drives through organizing employment fairs at the institutes through linkages with employers jointly with the placement facilitator;

(10) Follow up with placed girls and create effective support system to ensure sustainability in jobs;

(11) Contribute to sustainability of programme beyond project duration through integration into/ strengthening of mainstream curriculum of the institute.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a master’s in social development, education, educational pedagogy Human resource, skill development or related field.

 

Experience:

Applicant must have minimum five years of experience in training, professional development, preferably in the education, skill education or in social development sphere.

 

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Good knowledge of approaches, systems and processes in training and professional development;
(2) Ability to design clear and attractive presentations and other communication documents, including training manuals/ reports;
(3) Good understanding of gender and social inclusion aspects which is needed to work with girls from marginalized society and their Self Confidence & Stress Management;
(4) Excellent written and oral communication, and presentation skills;
(5) Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills;

(6) Effective communication skills in English and Marathi;

(7) Good hold in handling data and working in MS excel and Word documents.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

Gross compensation budgeted for the position, is Rs 50000-60,000 per month. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.

 

6. LOCATION: Mumbai.

 

7. APPOINTMENT: This is a full-time position, and the initial contract will be offered for a period of 24 months, which shall be renewable based on performance
