2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND
:
 

The Bajaj Group of companies have a strong CSR commitment, guided by the vision and philosophy of its Founder, the late Shri Jamnalal Bajaj. All CSR activities of the Bajaj Group are coordinated and undertaken through the Jankidevi Bajaj Gram Vikas Sanstha (JBGVS), the apex society and non-profit organisation of the group, established in 1987 and named after the late Padma Vibhushan Shrimati Jankidevi Bajaj.

 

JBGVS works single-mindedly towards bridging the divide between urban and rural India, through integrated rural development interventions, designed with a view to ensuring achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. JBGVS interventions focus on five major areas, that include, Education, Healthcare, Environment, Economic Development and Social Development.

 

JBGVS acts as a catalyst and assists the participating rural community in selected villages in improving their quality of life, through poverty alleviation, empowerment of women, gender equality and the development of human and natural resources, while promoting ecological balance. JBGVS works directly in more than 233 villages in Maharashtra, Rajasthan & Uttarakhand and indirectly reaches out to more than 7500 villages in targeted geographies. All JBGVS initiatives are designed in consultation with and the active participation of the local village community, for better acceptability and successful implementation.

 

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the CEO, JBGVS, the Head- Health Care (HHC) shall be responsible for managing all program processes in respect of the organization’s portfolio of community health projects, as well as, related infrastructure development.

 

S/he will work closely with collaborators, partners, the CSR team, as well as the direct implementation team at JBGVS, to engage with communities in rural as well as urban settings. S/he shall build the capacity of community health institutions and the cadre of paraprofessionals engaged in the provision of primary and community health care. The HHC shall also design preventive and curative strategies, to encourage equitable participation by vulnerable classes in the health projects, so as to ensure that program efforts are replicable and yield sustainable results.   


Key Deliverables:
(1) Develop and manage the portfolio of Primary Health Care projects in collaboration with all stakeholders, including partners and collaborators, using participatory tools and techniques;
(2) Manage community based institutions, paying attention to their uniformity at macro level and diversity, at the micro level;
(3) Facilitate the process of determining and building the capacity of the cadre of paraprofessionals, among the local community in different spheres of primary health care;

(4) Facilitate the conduct of scientific primary and community health needs assessment, including articulation of outcomes, evolving local strategies, facilitating the development of appropriate networks of expert institutions and individuals, and engaging with appropriate agencies to handle Primary Health Care interventions;

(5) Facilitate the institutionalization of primary health care initiatives with emphasis on continuous improvement and process innovation, keeping management abreast with the latest developments in the CSR universe, both nationally and globally;
(6) Facilitate evolution of the repository of primary health care and information processes within the organization, enabling their smooth access and retrieval by interested stakeholders, including the CSR community;

(7) Facilitate the evolution and deployment of well-articulated SOPs, within the overarching framework of the JBGVS;

(8) Assist multi-sectoral and multi-disciplinary team management of CSR at JBGVS, across geographies, sectors and sub sectors including primary health, nutrition, child and mother care, infrastructural support, mobile, safe drinking water, community health and hygiene;

(9) Provide expert inputs in developing BCC tools for addressing primary health care issues, to the JBGVS team and/or its partners, collaborators, communities, etc.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualification:

MBBS, or graduate, in any discipline, with a Masters’ in Social Sciences, or Public Health, or Hospital & Health Management, or Community Medicine, or Preventive and Social Medicine, or equivalent, from a reputed institute.

 

Experience:
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in planning, designing and/or evaluating community-based health care, primary health care and/ or integrated community health care management, with emphasis on technical assistance and capacity building of Government Institutions and/or CSOs

(Note: Candidates falling short of the prescribed number of years of experience, but possessing quality/ exceptionally relevant experience, may also be considered.)
 

Skills and Competencies:

(1) In-depth understanding of the key issues impacting community and/or primary health care, pros and cons and costs of alternative approaches, is essential;

(2) Well versed with the Environmental Impact Assessment framework, LFA and M&E tools to manage the theory of change;

(3) Familiarity with the NGO community and of managing relationships with leading NGOs working in the area of healthcare, specifically in Maharashtra/ Rajasthan/ Uttarakhand, will be an advantage;

(4) Familiarity with online CSR MIS (Goodera P3);

(5) Knowledge of developing M&E and planning tools like LOGFRAME, etc.;

(6) Knowledge of CSR regulations and requirements;

(7) Good negotiation, influencing skills and excellent communication skills;
(8) Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills in English;
(9) Computer proficiency with expertise in Windows, MS Office and database software;

(10) Demonstratable ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment with strong facilitation skills, ability to analyze reports, plan and monitor projects;

(11) Should be able to take long strenuous job assignments with verve and vigor;

(12) Willing to travel in the rural areas.


5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

Gross compensation for the position is Rs. 12 lacs per annum. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.

 

6. AGE LIMIT: This shall be a travel intensive role across all intervention areas of JBGVS and accordingly the preferred age for the incumbent shall be 35-45 years.

 

7. APPOINTMENT: The initial contract will be offered for a period of one year and shall be renewable based on performance.
