Established in 2014, Development Solutions is a research and consultancy organisation, offering a range of services to enable solutions for development issues in India and other Asian countries.

 

Development Solutions’ mission and vision are to co-create solutions for development issues through partnerships with people, clients and institutions, to ensure that solutions are need based, appropriate, innovative, cost effective and sustainable.

 

Development Solutions provides consultancy services, including research studies, M&E, strategy development, project management and documentation support to various reputed organisations, including international NGOs, Government Departments, UN agencies and corporates, on health, education, socio-economic inclusion (livelihood, modern slavery, gender, etc.) and WASH.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Development Solutions wishes to hire an outstanding, young development professional, with experience of managing research and consulting assignments, for the key vacancy of Project Manager (PM). The post-holder shall be responsible for supporting research and consulting assignments. S/he shall also be responsible for supporting business development activities for maturing projects, such as proposal writing, etc.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

 

A. Coordination/ Management of Projects

(1) Coordinate and support the design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects;

(2) Monitor implementation, to ensure timely and effective project completion, as well as budget management;

(3) Ensure requisite technical support to and work effectively with teams, as necessary;

(4) Bring new learning and innovation to enable a “learning organization”;

(5) Disseminate and promote learning and knowledge from assignments, to the wider community.

 

B. Business Development

(1) Identify strategic opportunities that the organization can leverage for business development;

(2) Provide support for proposal development; 

(3) Represent the organization in client meetings and forums and enable a good client management system;  

(4) Provide support to other organizational development initiatives.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a post graduate degree in a relevant discipline, from a recognized institution.

 

Experience:

(1) Minimum two to four years of experience in project management with the development sector, preferably handling research and consulting assignments;

(2) Knowledge, understanding and/or experience of having worked on social development issues, is essential.

 

Essential Skills and Competencies:

(1) Ability to manage and undertake quantitative and qualitative data collection;

(2) Ability to analyze data;

(3) Proficiency in English, with excellent written communication skills and the ability to independently generate high-quality reports;

(4) Ability and willingness to travel as per the job requirements.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is Rs. 6-9 lacs per annum. The actual offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.

 

6. LOCATION: New Delhi with travel to project locations.
