3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Development Solutions wishes to hire an outstanding development professional, with expertise in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) activities, to fill the key senior management vacancy for Senior Manager- Projects (SMP). The SMP shall be responsible for leading and overseeing projects, focusing on the M&E component. Working with a team of Project Coordinators and Managers, s/he will also ensure the design and execution of M&E consulting assignments.

 

Key responsibilities for the post-holder shall be as follows:

 

(1) Contribute to the development of Development Solutions’ portfolio of M&E consulting assignments;

(2) Deliver and oversee the delivery of specific consultancy contracts and act as a team leader where necessary;

(3) Collaborate with external associates on specific initiatives and work closely with other teams;

(4) Track and identify opportunities for consultancy and advisory work in the area of M&E and ensure high-quality submissions and responses to the same;

(5) Lead and support the preparation and submission of specific consultancy bids or proposals, including the identification of possible team members;

(6) Identify opportunities for expanding and increasing the impact of Development Solutions’ M&E work;

(7) Communicate closely with and develop relationships with existing and potential clients;

(8) Expand Development Solutions’ network of potential collaborators in this area, with emphasis on possible institutional partners;

(9) Monitor and keep up to date on key M&E related developments in the sector;

(10) Contribute to Development Solutions’ own development of M&E thematic capacity,

including supporting organisational learning and development of internal and external materials and publications;

(11) Contribute to the production of research and learning initiatives and publications (blogs, newsletter, website, occasional papers, books, events, etc.) for Development Solutions.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a post graduate degree in social sciences, , or other relevant discipline.

 

Experience:

(1) Minimum five to 10 years of experience in M&E, research and evaluation design and sampling methods within the development sector;

(2) Experience of using a variety of research methodologies for use in M&E work, is required;

(3) Experience of working as a consultant on assignments related to monitoring, evaluation and learning would be an advantage;

(4) Experience in leading and managing project evaluations/ assessments, is essential.

 

Essential Skills and Competencies:

(1) Ability to undertake data analysis. Proficiency in standard statistical tools (viz. STATA/ R, etc.) will be an advantage;

(2) Ability and willingness to travel as per job requirements;

(3) Excellent oral and written communication skills;

(4) Good interpersonal skills, as well as demonstrable expertise in interacting with a wide range of stakeholders within and outside the organization;

(5) Ability to work and accomplish deliverables within compressed timelines.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is Rs.15-22 lacs per annum. The actual offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.

 

6. LOCATION: New Delhi with travel to project locations.
