Reporting to Director - Resource Mobilisation, the Senior Manager- Corporate Partnerships (SMCP) shall be responsible for leading fundraising from both private and public sector companies in India and achieving ambitious fundraising targets from corporate accounts. The incumbent shall also be responsible for ensuring effective key account management of existing corporates, apart from prospecting and developing new clients, reviewing and finalizing donor reports, and supporting and coordinating proposal development.


The SMCP shall be supported by five Managers and her/his team responsible for achieving a corporate fundraising target of Rs. 40 crores annually.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:


(A) Strategy Planning for Corporate Fundraising:

(1) Determine the annual fundraising target from corporates in consultation with the Director- Resource Mobilisation;
(2) Develop the annual strategy for ensuring sustainable processes and plans for corporate fundraising in consultation with the Director- Resource Mobilisation;
(3) Operationalize and implement the strategy to meet fundraising targets.


(B) Donor Prospecting & Acquisition:
(1) Lead the process of developing long-term strategic partnerships with corporates to fund Plan India’s projects and programmes;
(2) Meet the senior management team of potential corporate organizations (at the level of CSR Head, Marketing Head, Corporate Affairs Head, HR Head, etc.), to explain Plan India’s plans and projects for different thematic areas and showcase accomplishments and work being done at the grassroots;
(3) Discuss and explain various avenues, ideas and opportunities to explore mutual areas of interests with potential corporates;
(4) Represent Plan India in different corporate forums and events, CSR seminars and conferences, nationally and internationally, to network with and improve the visibility of the organization to prospective corporates;
(5) Provide support to Regional/ State Managers in the Programme Team for donor prospecting and acquisition in different Regions/ States;

(6) Review the prospect trackers, monthly proposal trackers, and weekly meeting calendars for the team, and provide inputs, as necessary.


(C) Development of Products & Materials:

(1) Lead the process of developing products, campaigns and platforms for corporate fundraising, such as employee giving, cause related marketing, events etc;

(2) Review the pitch presentations, case studies, and audios/videos for showcasing existing interventions prepared by the team.


(D) Proposal Development:

(1) Ensure the creation of proposals and concept notes as per donor requirements and coordinate with the Programme Implementation Team for this, as required;

(2) Guide the process of conceptualizing and writing proposals, providing strategic inputs, as well as troubleshooting support in case of problems/ delays;

(3) Review the final proposal to be sent to the donor, providing feedback and ensuring that all suggested changes are incorporated.


(E) Partnership Agreements:

(1) Review grant agreements/ contracts with corporate partners, to ensure they meet donor requirements, apart from ensuring compliance with Plan India’s procedures, systems and ethical guidelines issues (including the Safeguarding Children & Young People Policy);

(2) Ensure effective grant contract management for corporate partners in terms of seeking extensions or tracking under-spends.


(F) Donor Management, Servicing & Retention:

(1) Develop and implement a stewardship program for corporate partners to ensure donor stickiness;

(2) Monitor the quality of corporate donor servicing being provided by the team and ensure quality outputs;

(3) Manage ongoing relationships by ensuring the timely resolution of queries raised by corporate donors;

(4) Ensure that regular meetings are scheduled and held with existing donors, to provide them programme updates and current programme status;

(5) Ensure regular interaction with the National Office team, to share programme updates and exchange information regarding events, activities and new partnerships;

(6) Review and ensure timely submission of donor reports to all corporate donors;

(7) Ensure timely, accurate and effective donor servicing in terms of standard processes, ensuring the timely dispatch of tax certificates, sharing of annual reports, etc.;

(8) Initiate and encourage project visits by existing and prospective donors;

(9) Accompany selected, key large donors on field visits;

(10) Deal with sensitive/ critical donor feedback to pre-empt issues and manage sensitive relationships;

(11) Ensure effective key account management to enhance donor retention and receive grant extensions.


(G) Team Management:

(1) Develop, mentor and support team members in successfully acquiring corporate donors and delivering quality donor servicing;

(2) Resolve team members’ issues and grievances;

(3) Conduct performance appraisal of team members.




(1) Applicants must be graduates from a recognized university;

(2) Applicants with an MBA in Business Management, Marketing, Finance, Communication, or other relevant discipline, from a recognized institution, shall be preferred.



(1) Applicants must possess a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in fund raising/ resource mobilization/ business development, marketing, or related field;

(2) Experience of managing a team of fundraising professionals, is essential.


Essential Skills and Competencies:

(1) Must have the innovation skills to achieve fundraising targets even in adverse situations;
(2) Must have excellent written and oral presentation skills, with a good track record in writing winning, fundraising proposals and applications;
(3) Must have networking skills to represent the organization to corporates and persuade them to contribute;

(4) Ability to establish new contacts and maintain existing relationships with key donors;

(5) Excellent command of the English and Hindi language, covering both written and oral communication;

(6) Strong time management skills, to consistently meet stringent deadlines;

(7) Commitment to Plan India’s mission and goals.




Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The actual offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
