2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:  
 

India health action trust (IHAT) aims at improving health in India and abroad by providing comprehensive technical assistance in program planning and management. IHAT and University of Manitoba (UOM), Canada with funding from Bill & Melinda gate foundation (BMGF) have establish a technical support unit (TSU) for Government of Uttar Pradesh to provide techno-managerial support to improve coverage key reproductive, maternal, new-born, child health and Adolescent (RMNCH+A) intervention and services in the state.

3. PURPOSE OF THE POST:

Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) unit at the India Health Action Trust (IHAT) is one of the cross-cutting units which leads all the programme monitoring and evidence-generation activities within the organization. The M&E unit is comprised of three sub-teams which work towards supporting the government in enhancing the public data system, its’ quality and use; supporting TSU programme team in monitoring the technical support offered to the government in improving programmes and generating evidence through a robust concurrent monitoring system and in-depth analysis. In addition to technical work, the M&E team also contributes to the development of a dashboard, organization website, and other documentation that depicts success stories and innovative processes that are being conducted by the unit.


Reporting to the Deputy Director, Monitoring & Evaluation the Specialist- Knowledge Management and Documentation, specific to M&E unit, will work on the documentation portfolio and can also be entrusted with the task of producing manuals, guidelines, training modules, brief evidence notes, and other relevant material as and when required.

4. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(1) Developing technical documents, brief notes, and infographics from the evidence generated through research;

(2) Reviewing and compiling all relevant M&E documents for easy access and use;

(3) Supporting the team in developing the M&E related contents for the website and the knowledge management team at the organization level;

(4) Undertaking field visits to study and document the M&E related best practices and success stories;

(5) Organizing, writing, and editing technical guidelines, documents, resource materials, training modules, presentations and other relevant materials in coordination with the concerned teams;

(6) Leading the designing work of all the technical documents;

(7) Maintaining and updating the documents for the website and other portals regularly;

(8) Any other related task assigned by the supervisor.

 

5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:
 

Qualification:
Applicants must have a Master degree in Public Health, Management, Social Science, or other relevant fields.

Experience:

(1) Applicant must have a minimum of five years of experience in documentation and report writing in large scale development programs;

(2 Experience in documentation of public health programs will be given preference;

(3) Candidate should have experience of data interpretation.

Skills and Competencies:
(1) Demonstrated cross-cultural, teamwork skills and ability to foresee issues and initiate appropriate action;

(2) Must be flexible and be able to work in a challenging environment;

(3) Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills;

(4) Advanced knowledge in computers and team coordination & communication skills;

(5) Able to design documents and power points using designing tools.

6. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
