2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

 

India Health Action Trust (IHAT) was instituted in 2003 as a Trust with the goal to reduce health inequities and improve health outcomes in the country. It is registered with the Ministry of Home Affairs under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 1976. IHAT has done extensive work in the areas of HIV/AIDs, Maternal, New-born & Child Health, Family Planning, Nutrition and Health Systems Strengthening and has active projects in Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. IHAT employs an ‘embedded approach’ to work in collaboration with governments to provide ‘techno-managerial’ support in planning and implementing health interventions.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Reporting to the Sr. Advisor, the Team Leader - Knowledge Management will be responsible for facilitating the overall knowledge and information management processes in the organization. S/he will champion organization-wide development and dissemination of knowledge products to ensure institutionalization of knowledge and exchange of best practices. S/he will be responsible for working with project teams to ensure that product developed are technically accurate and adhere to the IHAT’s standards.

 

Please note- The incumbent will be based out of New Delhi and frequent travel (50% - 70%) to IHAT’s project locations is anticipated. 

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
 

(1) Leadership

(a) Responsible for designing the knowledge management vision for IHAT in consultation with the senior management;   

(b) Provide support in developing the strategic plan for Knowledge Management within IHAT and its partners;

(c) Plan the activities of the Knowledge Management Unit and develop a detailed work plan for all stages of the knowledge management process as per the strategic plan.

(d) Oversee the development of knowledge products in consultation with program teams      or other key stakeholders;

(e) Provide guidance for documentation to ensure that standard processes for knowledge management are followed;

(f) Oversee the management of a library of knowledge products with appropriate indexing and develop a process for storing and accessing information from the library;

(g) Develop monitoring and reporting mechanism to track the progress of knowledge management activities and update senior management.

 

(2) Stakeholder Management

(a) Engage and communicate with IHAT/ University of Manitoba teams to develop knowledge products and appropriate dissemination plan;

(b) Consult with target audiences to ensure that knowledge products align with their knowledge needs for different channels;

(c)Work closely with program teams to ensure accuracy and clarity of knowledge products created.

 

(3) Channel Management

(a) Develop a strategic plan for disseminating the knowledge generated through relevant channels specific to different stakeholders;

(b) Identify conferences that represent IHATs body of work and support in creating relevant communication plan for specific conference.

 

(4) Content Management

(a) Responsible for curating/copywriting the content for language and adherence to IHAT’s standards and policies;

(b) Ensure the knowledge library and the knowledge products are current in line with the projects progress;

(c) Develop systems and tools to effectively capture, compile, package and disseminate knowledge products;

(e) Ensuring that branding of IHAT and partner organizations on external facing knowledge products are in alignment to organization’s policies.

 

(5) Other

Undertake any other task requested by the respective manager.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:


Qualification:

(1) Applicant must have Post Graduate degree in Social Sciences/ Communication/ Journalism/ Public administration/ Public health/ Business administration or any relevant qualification;

(2) Applicant with Doctorate in relevant field shall add an advantage.

Experience:

(1) Minimum 15 years of overall experience out of which at least seven years in knowledge management field;

(2) Minimum three years of experience in providing strategic guidance and leadership in the field of knowledge management;

(3) Experience in public health and/ or non-profit organizations will be preferred.
 

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills;

(2) Fluency in Hindi and/or Kannada will be an added advantage;

(3) Excellent facilitation and presentation skills;

(4) Excellent project management skills with ability to manage stakeholders and delivering on time;

(5) Ability to self-motivate and work semi-autonomously;

(6) Excellent content designing and curating skills;

(7) Knowledge of designing tools such as adobe Photoshop, publisher etc. will be an advantage;

(8) Proficient in Microsoft office packages and other relevant IT applications relevant to the position.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation for the position shall be attractive. Please note that the offer shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and salary history of the selected candidate.
