1. POSITION(S) VACANT: Head - Institutional Partnership, International Non-profit Organisation, NCR



Our client is a respected, International Non-profit Organisation (INPO), focusing on ending poverty and social injustice through comprehensive programmes in health, education, livelihoods and disaster preparedness and response across the globe.



Reorting to the Senior Director - Fundraising, Marketing and Communications (SD-FRMC), the Head - Institutional Partnership (HIP) shall be responsible for leading the process of Institutional Partnership to secure consistent and significant flow of funding for the organisation. S/he will be responsible for leading external negotiations relating to Institutional Partnership with institutional donors, development organizations, and other stakeholders like Embassies, etc. S/he will also ensure that all Institutional Partnership opportunities pursued by the organisation are in alignment with organizational vision, goals, program principles, national program strategy and sector strategies.

The HIP will carry out new proposal development and program design and explore further opportunities for the organisation with international donors and under various government initiatives. S/he would be required to share responsibility for collaborating with other programs at different level to ensure achievement of program synergies and work towards an annual revenue target. S/he will head the Institutional Partnership Unit, formed to meet these functions and supervise a team of three to four staff members. 

Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Lead the process of developing high quality proposals to secure consistent and significant flow of funding for the organisation, including setting-up, cutting-edge systems and processes that facilitate proposal development;
(2) Lead external negotiations relating to Institutional Partnership with the following:

(a) Development organizations and private sector agencies for the formation of strong consortiums;
(b) Donors for contract negotiations;
(c) Organisation members.


(3) Ensure that all opportunities pursued the organisation are in alignment with the organizational vision, goals, program principles, national program strategy and sector strategies;
(4) Maintain the orgnaisations proposal development pipeline by establishing systems that are able to provide real-time information and also inform the organisation’s resource mobilization strategy; Keep abreast of and effectively track proposal announcements; Maintain and regularly update opportunities with new information; Research potential opportunities that contribute to decisions to bid for an opportunity; Collect information on development approaches, trends and major donor requirements; Develop and deliver bid/ no bid decision briefing to senior management;
(5) Identify stakeholder groups, mange group coordination and dynamics, and identify common goals and priorities, quickly and effectively; Plan proposal development kickoff meetings; Analyze solicitation requirements and prepare proposal plans, including outlines, tasks, schedules and responsibilities; Respond effectively to Expression of Interest (EOI) processes;
(6) Facilitate workshops and structured discussions around proposal development; Determine the scope and nature of facilitation; Use various methodologies, tools and techniques, practical skills exercises; Create the right climate for effective group work, group problem solving and reach a consensus;
(7) Prepare detailed implementation plans, milestones; Incorporate feedback; Edit and perform quality check of all proposal sections;
(8) Communicate with partner organizations about proposal policies, procedures, standard forms and requirements for the RFA/P and facilitating communications within the proposal team;
(9) Develop a competitive financial strategy; Manage bid proposals within the agreed upon budget;
(10) Develop proposal effort calendars and track proposal deliverables to ensure they are completed on time; Validate proposal compliances with RFP requirements, communicate proposal-related requirements and status and disseminate information to all senior management, as appropriate; Finalise production of formatted and proof read copy proposals and electronic copy of proposals;
(11) Maintain proposal files, both electronic and hard copy; Also maintain teaming agreements, templates for documents, teaming letters and other documents as required; Disseminate information to proposal teams and partners; Capably draft sections of proposals; Update and maintain past performance references and other required past performance information;
(12) Ensure smooth and quick transition of won projects to Programme Operations Unit by convening Handing-Over meetings and participating in inception workshops;
(13) Participate proactively in advancing proposal knowledge management process; Contribute to the development of organization intellectual capital and tools and systems to support the efficiency and effectiveness in capturing new development opportunities, leveraging existing archived proposal information.




Applicants must be Masters’ in Social Sciences, International Development, or other relevant discipline.


(1) Minimum 10 years of experience in the socio-development sector, with a demonstrated track record of conceptualizing strategic programmes and producing high-quality project funding proposals;
(2) Strong understanding of development aid and experience of working with international and national funding agencies, viz. BMGF, USAID, DFID, EU etc;
(3) Ability to work in partnership with multiple stakeholders, internal project teams, senior management teams, donor agencies, institutional partners, development organizations and government agencies.

Gross compensation budgeted for the position ranges from Rs. 25- 30 lacs per annum. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
