2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

 

Reach to Teach (RTT) is an education charity that works with governments and other like-minded organisations, to improve the quality of primary education. RTT exists to transform the lives of children in remote and marginalised communities in India, by focusing on transforming classroom teaching practices and teacher-to-child engagement.

 

Founded in 2003, RTT has grown into an established charity improving the learning outcomes of children in the state of Gujarat and believes that the most important factor in improving children’s learning, is the quality of teaching. RTT’s technical team has helped successfully deploy international best practices in education, at rural schools in Gujarat and is committed to ensuring that the same are extended and adopted by all schools, state-wide.

 

RTT is working in coalition with other organisations, to support Government of Gujarat’s ongoing efforts to deliver systemic change to ensure better foundational literacy and numeracy outcomes.

About the Project

 

The Command and Control Centre (CCC) is one of the initiatives under the Gujarat Institute of Education Technology (GIET) which is being revived by the State Government. The CCC is set up to achieve effective governance across the education system including the schools, teachers and the administrative and support staff at district, block and cluster levels.

 

The Government Support Programme (GSP) of RTT will work with the Department of Education towards developing a long-term vision and action plan for CCC. Under this programme, the team will identify the areas that can be supported through technology-based solutions in schools and clusters, and then provide support to government officials in implementing the same.

  

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Reporting to the Director, Government Support Programme, the Manager Analytics shall support the Senior Analytics Manager to help integrate data analytics in various applications within the CCC and run the process of data collection and analysis. S/he shall present the data in the form of various reports and dashboards, which will help the education department and the policymakers to make data-driven decisions.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

 

A. Data Analytics

(1) Support the Senior Analytics Manager in the development and integration of applications for data analytics;

(2) Maintain databases and perform various kinds of qualitative and quantitative data analysis, prepare reports with the help of visualisation tools, present findings and send reports and dashboards to the larger project team;

(3) Interpret results, pinpoint trends, and draw correlations and patterns in large and complicated data sets using standard statistical tools;

(4) Use the standards prepared by the Senior Analytics Manager to measure results, compare and benchmark those with industry and sectoral data;

(5) Locate and define process improvement opportunities on an ongoing basis;

(6) Send regular updates about the project, to both internal and external stakeholders in a proactive manner;

(7) Work with other RTT employees to draw on national and international best practices and apply those in my work;

 

B. Communication and Stakeholder Management

(1) Under the direction of the Director, GSP, build and maintain a relationship of trust with the government officials; Ensure seamless coordination and coherence and manage all escalations amongst all stakeholders;

(2) Manage relationships with SSA, all government employees and the wider RTT team to provide technical inputs and continuous support in their new initiatives.

 

C. Planning and Organising

(1) Plan and manage the data analysis and reporting requirements within the CCC programme.

 

D. Teamwork and People Management

(1) Embed collaborative problem-solving practices within the teams;

(2) Promote and embody RTT’s culture of openness, innovation, involvement, teamwork and performance;

(3) Maintain the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and be a role model for RTT values and behaviours.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:             

 

Qualifications:

(1) Applicants must be Graduates in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Data Science or equivalent, from a recognized university.

 

Experience:

(1) Minimum eight years of experience in data modelling, data mining and analysis with exposure to working with big data and statistical modeling.

 

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Excellent numerical and analytical skills, including proficiency in MS Excel;

(2) Good understanding of the range of business intelligence and analytics platforms;

(3) Knowledge of programming and data analytics and visualization tools such as R, Python, Matlab, Power BI, etc.;

(4) Ability to produce clear graphical representations and work on data visualisations;

(5) Expertise in descriptive, diagnostic and predictive analysis with the ability to determine historical patterns and make future decisions;

(6) Ability to successfully manage different reporting priorities with various stakeholders;

(7) Ability to create relationships of trust with stakeholders, generates positivity, natural team player moves tasks to completion;

(8) Collaborative and solutions focused;

(9) Ability to deal well with ambiguity, uncertainty and change;

(10) Ability to adapt well to shifting priorities;

(11) Ability to juggle different and conflicting priorities;

(12) Self-motivated, ability to work in the absence of visible progress or availability of clear data;

(13) Ability to articulate and communicate well to all stakeholders (both verbally and in writing) in a manner that meets the diverse needs of different audiences

(14) Ability and willingness to travel as per job requirements.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

Gross compensation for the position is attractive. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.

 

6. LOCATION: Ahmedabad/ Gandhinagar, Gujarat

 

7. APPOINTMENT: This is a full-time position. The initial contract offered shall be till March 2022 and renewable thereafter based on performance.
