1. POSITION VACANT: National Consultant for Partnerships in TB Control (NC-PTC), Central TB Division, New Delhi
Attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health.
Core Functions:
Building on WHO’s mandate and its comparative advantage, the following six core functions have been defined for the Organization and Country activities of WHO India:
(1) Providing leadership on matters critical to health and engaging in partnerships where joint action is needed;
(2) Shaping the research agenda and stimulating the generation, translation and dissemination of valuable knowledge;
(3) Setting norms and standards, and promoting and monitoring their implementation;
(4) Articulating ethical and evidence-based policy options;
(5) Providing technical support, catalysing change, and building sustainable institutional capacity;
(6) Monitoring the health situation and assessing health trends.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the overall supervision of the DDG (TB), MoH&FW, GoI and technical guidance of Officers of the WHO Representative to India, the National Consultant for Partnerships in TB Control (NC-PTC), shall undertake the following tasks:
(1) Provide technical support to Central TB Division (CTD) for development of evidence based policies, guidelines and schemes on public private partnerships for TB control;
(2) Assist CTD in the development, piloting, evaluation and the scale-up of operational models of public-private partnerships in RNTCP;
(3) Promote the use of the International Standards of TB Care (ISTC) and assist in the development of additional tools and enablers for effective involvement of all care providers and stakeholders in RNTCP;
(4) Facilitate the close coordination of CTD with medical colleges, NGOs, private practitioners, professional medical associations, corporate sector and the public sector care providers outside the health department;
(5) Provide technical assistance to CTD for the timely and complete reporting from public-private mix surveillance, including facilitation for compilation and analysis of these reports at the national level;
(6) Provide technical support to CTD for monitoring and evaluation of public-private collaborative activities under RNTCP;
(7) Facilitate effective collaboration of RNTCP with NRHM, NUHM and other health system strengthening initiatives;
(8) Provide a monthly report and an end-of-assignment report in the prescribed formats on activities, achievements, challenges and recommendations;
(9) Perform other duties as required in the interests of the programme.
4. QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-graduate degree in management with expertise and experience in partnership development.
5. EXPERIENCE:
(1) At least five years of experience in the field of public health, preferably working with public health programmes, public-private partnerships and/or the health system;
(2) At least three years of project management experience.

(4) Ensuring the effective use of resources.
7. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Approximate initial taxable remuneration for the vacancy shall range from INR 94,500/- to 131,400/- pm, to be decided by WHO.
