National Consultant for Biostatistics and Surveillance

(CTD, New Delhi)

 

1. POSITION VACANT:  National Consultant for Biostatistics and Surveillance (NC-BS), Central TB Division, New Delhi

 

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Under the overall supervision of the DDG (TB), MoH&FW, GoI and technical guidance of Officers of the WHO Representative to India, the National Consultant for Biostatistics and Surveillance (NC-BS),  shall undertake the following tasks:

 

(1)     Assist with development and analysis of national surveys and activities for TB disease burden assessment;

(2)     Support the accuracy, timeliness and effectiveness of ongoing routine data collection and analysis for RNTCP;

(3)     Coordinate the management of RNTCP databases and prepare surveillance and health reports necessary for decision making process;

(4)     Assist in the design and analysis of research, clinical and operational, to develop evidence base to inform programme policies and operations;

(5)     Oversee the development and preparation of surveillance reports;

(6)     Develop protocols to manage data systems and to ensure data auditing of RNTCP surveillance data.

(7)     Conduct routine data auditing using specific data management and auditing criteria;

(8)     Assist the CTD in the generation of  health indicators and other health statistics for the Ministry of Health;

(9)     Support capacity development of statistical personnel at District and National levels;

(10)  Assist in the design and creation of surveillance reports;

(11)  Provide technical supervision of data analysis in CTD;

(12)  Any other relevant duties assigned from time to time.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Doctoral degree in Statistics/ Biostatistics/ Public Health/ Math, or equivalent.

 

5. EXPERIENCE:   

 

(1)     Minimum  five years experience in Biostatistics;

(2)     Well documented research contributions with publications in peer-reviewed journals;

(3)     Strong knowledge of IT applications, such as Microsoft Office and Statistical Software.

7. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

Approximate initial taxable remuneration for the vacancy shall range from INR 94,500/- to 131,400/- pm, to be decided by WHO.
