RNTCP Consultant for Partnerships, New Delhi

RNTCP Consultant for Partnerships  (CPPM; 1 vacancy; New Delhi)
 

2.    Organization/ Background:

The World Health Organization (WHO), India, is seeking experienced professionals for Senior, National level, vacancies with the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP), based at the Central TB Division (CTD), New Delhi.

The Central TB Division (CTD)
, a part of the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, with the technical assistance of the World Health Organization, India, is implementing the Government of India’s Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP).

RNTCP
is a professionally managed and respected national health programme, making a difference to the lives of millions of TB patients in India.  The program comprises of five levels; National, State, District, Sub-district and Peripheral health institutions.


The Central TB Division (CTD) is overall responsible for tuberculosis control at the national level.

 

3.    Job Description/  Responsibilities:

Under the general technical and administrative supervision of the Deputy Director General (DDG-TB), MoH&FW, GoI and WHO India, the Consultant will handle the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

(1) Provide technical support to Central TB Division (CTD) for development of evidence based policies, guidelines and schemes on public private partnerships in RNTCP
(2) Promote the use of the International Standards of TB Care (ISTC) and assist in the development of additional tools and enablers for effective involvement of all care providers and stakeholders in RNTCP.

(3) Assist CTD in the development, piloting and the scale-up of operational models of public-private partnerships in RNTCP.
(4) Facilitate the close coordination of CTD with medical colleges, NGOs, private practitioners, professional medical associations, corporate sector and the public sector care providers outside the health department.
(5) Provide technical assistance to CTD for the timely and complete reporting from the 14-city intensified public-private mix DOTS project. Also facilitate the compilation and analysis of these reports at the national level.(6) Provide technical support to CTD for monitoring and evaluation of public-private collaborative activities under RNTCP.
(7) Facilitate effective collaboration of RNTCP with NRHM, NUHM and other health system strengthening initiatives.
(8) Provide a monthly report and an end-of-assignment report in the prescribed formats on activities, achievements, challenges and recommendations.
(9) Perform other duties as required in the interests of the programme.
 

4.    Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:
 Post-Graduate degree in Public Health/ Community Medicine, or equivalent

Experience:
Minimum five years of experience in the health sector, of which at least 2-3 years comprises of field experience with public health programmes, public-private partnerships and/or the health system.

Knowledge of tuberculosis and tuberculosis control programmes is desirable.

(2) Strong team orientation
(3) Ability to work independently, with minimum handholding and supervision
(4) Computer literacy viz. familiarity with word processing and other standard applications
 

6.    Compensation Offered:  

Gross remuneration has been budgeted at Rs. 10.7 lacs p.a. Please note that this is not a staff post and the selected candidate shall be engaged on an annual Special Services Agreement.
