1. POSITION VACANT: Chief Executive Officer, WISH Program, Lords Education & Health Society, New Delhi.


The Lords Education & Health Society (LEHS) is a registered NGO which is implementing multiple programs in primary healthcare.  Its flagship program is the Wadhwani Initiative for Sustainable Healthcare (WISH), which focuses on building an equitable, innovation-led healthcare system that puts quality healthcare within easy reach of the poor.

LEHS ensures that high potential innovations and enterprises are identified, supported and scaled within the healthcare service system, to serve the BoP population across India. 

LEHS vision is to provide high-quality, affordable and accessible primary care services to over 100 million of the poorest families in India.  LEHS also plans to replicate its experience in India in other regions of the world in course of time.

The CEO of WISH will be the key player in establishing within LEHS and all its programs a culture of compassion, respect, trust, collaboration, learning, innovation, urgency and passion for results. 

This individual will exemplify the mission, vision and cultural values of WISH through his or her actions. 

The CEO will be an effective leader, set strategic direction, implement will thought out and sensitive employee practices, achieve operational excellence and strengthen the brand positioning and value proposition of LEHS and WISH. 

S/he will exhibit the ability to communicate these objectives to all stakeholders and take the team along to achieve and deliver on the above is important. S/he will report to the Board of Directors.

This position will be based at WISH’s Office in New Delhi.

Job Responsibilities

1. Leadership

2. Strategic Direction

(1) Launch and maintain Healthy India @ 80 (2027) campaign
(2) Develop and execute an innovative long-term strategy focused on awareness, access and affordability
(3) Identify innovative technology and management solutions to deliver cost effective healthcare
(4) Scale national healthcare initiatives in public-private-partnerships
(5) Work closely with and mentor key internal stakeholders to achieve the 2027 vision

3. Employee Practices

(1) Ensure a structured process for hiring, engaging and retaining best in class talent
(2) Establish learning and development systems
(3) Nurture teams and promote a culture of team spirit, collaboration and trust

4. Operational Excellence

(1) Ensure comprehensive risk management and governance
(2) Ensure financial sustainability of the organization
(3) Develop transition and monitoring plans for state programs
(4) Measure impact through routine, independent assessments

5. Branding and Awareness

(1) Raise the visibility of WISH through networking and stakeholder management
(2) Lead outreach and actively participate in networking and fundraising
(3) Further the mission through in-field and fund-raising engagements


Professional Qualifications and Experience

(1) Minimum 10 years of senior, non-profit management experience, with significant part of it in health sector focused on primary health care;
(2) Masters’ Degree in Management, with a basic degree in Medicine or Public Health;
(3) Experience in leading public health programs;
(4) Success in managing a collaborative, multi-donor organization;
(5) Experience in working with the government and policy makers
(6) Track record managing successful resource mobilization from diverse sources, including CSR;
(7) Knowledge of public health regulatory environment;
(8) Fluent in Hindi with excellent competencies in English;
(9) Willingness and ability to travel extensively;
(10) Experience of working with a volunteer board.

Gross compensation of INR 75 lacs per annum, on an all-inclusive basis, has been budgeted for the position. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
