Family Health International:

Family Health International (FHI) is dedicated to improving lives, knowledge, and understanding worldwide through a highly diversified program of research, education, and services in family health and HIV/AIDS prevention and care. 

BACKGROUND:

DAKSH is a Technical Assistance (TA) project of FHI supported by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It has the mandate to provide TA to the National HIV/AIDS program on Strategic Information. The core areas of TA on SI as envisaged under this Project include Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), Surveillance and Data Use. Most of the project activities will be at the National level.  DAKSH is a five year project; the project has started on 30 September 2009.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Technical Officer will provide leadership on Strategic Information technical assistance to NACO, SACS, and National Institutes such as NIMS, NIHFW and Regional Surveillance Centers; and evaluation of CDC projects. The Key responsibilities would be:

·        In consultation with the Project Director, annually identify TA priorities in SI area nationally and in the CDC priority states, working closely with NACO, SACS and National Institutes maximizing synergy with FHI USAID activities and minimizing duplication

·        Represent DAKSH in high level SI related national committees, working groups, technical forums and other discussions

·        In consultation with the Project Director, plan and conduct end of project evaluation of CDC partner projects

·        Plan and provide support to NACO, SACS and National Institutes on integrated data analysis, DQA and use

·        Plan and conduct training on SI areas for stakeholders and partners

·        Participate in Strategic Planning for FHI and DAKSH and the development of DAKSH’s Annual Workplan, Budget, Country Operations Plan, Annual Progress Report and APRO reports

·        Develop/Review SI related training manuals and technical documents

·        Keep updated on the newer developments in terms of policies, guidelines and  developments on SI areas

·        Manage update of the national and international consultant database on SI areas

·        Liaise with UN, INGOs, national institutes and other lead agencies on SI issues

·        Perform other duties related to DAKSH as assigned by Project Director, DAKSH and Country Director

Education Qualifications & Experience:

·        PhD or Post Graduate Degree in Biostatistics/Statistics or Demography/Economics or Public Health/ Medicine.

·        Minimum 5 years experience of project design, monitoring and evaluation and data management and use.

·        Excellent knowledge in statistical softwares such as SPSS, Stata and Epiinfo.

·        Experience in managing and analyzing large scale data.

·        Strong analytical, problem solving and writing skills essential.

Compensation:

• Compensation levels at FHI are equivalent to market rates within the development sector. However, offers shall be based on salary history, relevant experience and qualifications.

Salary: 50k – 80k per month
